C-8/C-9/C-0 : Bypass / Manual Feed Mode Misfeed (or no paper detected in Manual Feed Mode)
(When the Bypass is engaged, the blue lever on the top of the Paper Cassette is pushed in towards the copier).
If there are jams present, slide the Bypass Lever away to disengage the Manual Feed Mode. See if the machine will feed paper from the Cassette… if paper misfeeds result, go read about “Misfeeds”.
If you get multiple 'C' codes with the bypass lever engaged & paper present, but no jammed paper is found…
- Check the movement in and out of the Manual Feed Lever on top of the Paper Cassette.
- Check the actuation of the Manual Feed Mode Sensor’s actuator arm & make sure the sensor’s 4 tabs are seated ok.
- You can test the Manual Feed Mode Sensor using Diagnostic Code ‘2’ (refer to “Testing Switches & Sensors”).
