E-1: Paper Jam (between the upper feed & fuser)
If no jammed paper is found...
- Check the Paper Path Switch Actuator for binding & check for a missing magnet on the actuator.
- You can test the Paper Path Switch (& the Exit Switch) using Diagnostic Code '2' (refer to “Testing Switches & Sensors”).
If the machine has the optional Lower drawer, see if the jams only occur from one or the other tray...
- If jams happen from the Upper (right side) cassette, go read about Tray 1 Misfeeds.
- If jams only occur from the lower drawer, go read about Tray 2 Misfeeds.
If the paper is found jammed at the Registration Gate (but not beyond it)... Read about "Registration Problems".
