      These really require a good, temperature-controlled soldering iron... one which has a solder-sucker is best. When installing....discard the rubber spacers and solder new bulbs so that they are all the way down to the board. When one of these lamps fails, a group of them go out... rendering the display completely unreadable (it looks blank).
