      Note that the Developer Bias Contact Spring on this unit (see the 3rd photo) is critical.  If you lose the developer bias, the copies and prints will come out with a gray background.  Check this spring to make sure it did not get dislodged and if it is still there, try cleaning it and stretching it a little so it will make more certain contact.
