First enter UI (User Interface) Diagnostic Mode: Hold down the ‘0’ button for 5 seconds and then press the ‘Start’ button while still holding the ‘0’ button. The machine will prompt you for a Password. Enter the default Access Number: ‘6789’ and press “Confirm”. The colors on the display will be reversed to indicate that you are now in diagnostic mode.
The next step depends on which model you are working on:
For WC-Pro133 family (WC-Pro123/128/133, M123/128/133, CC-C123/128/133): Press the ‘Log In/Out’ button.
For WC-5230 Family (WC-5222/5225/5230) & WC-5335 Family (WC-5325/5330/5335): Press the ‘Machine Status’ button. Then touch the “Tools” Tab.
Select ‘System Settings’, ‘Common’ Settings, followed by ‘Maintenance / Diagnostics’. Now you will find the main menu includes one choice called “NVM Read / Write” (NVM is the acronym for "Non Volatile Memory")… From here you can enter your “Chain-Link” code, and again it depends on which model you're working on:
For the WC-Pro133 & WC-5230 Families:
Fault Codes 010-320 (Fuser Fault), or 010-327 (Fuser Overheat): The NVM Chain-Link code 744-220 needs to be reset to “0”.
For the new WC-5335 Family:
Fault Codes 010-338 (Fuser Fault), 059-315 (Center Thermistor Over Temperature), or 059-317 (Rear Thermistor Over Termperature): The NVM Chain-Link code 744-005 needs to be reset back to “0”.
The current value will appear (if the machine is in a fuser fault condition, the value will be set to “1,2 or 3”). Select the “New Value” column and input your new value (‘0’). Select “Save” and the new number should now appear in the “Current Value” column. You can turn the power off and back on at this point. The machine will attempt to warm up the fuser again. If the condition which caused the fault in the first place is still happening, the Status Code will return after a few minutes of attempting to warm up.
